To Dance with the Joyful

"O God, my Truth, make me one with You in eternal love. Often I become weary with reading and hearing many things. You are all that I want and desire. Let all teachers be mute and all creation keep silent before You. Speak to me, You and You alone!" (Thomas a Kempis - Imitation of Christ.)

"I have loved you with an everlasting love. I have drawn you with loving-kindness... Again you will take up your tambourines and go out to dance with the joyful." (Jeremiah 31:3b & 4b)

Picture this: being in a state of total restoration. total clarity, ultimate forgiveness. There is nothing holding you back from the touch of the Father and the amazing good that He has.

Picture it. You are standing in a tent with the King. Outside a celebration, the most amazing celebration is going on. And while you can hear it on the tips of your ears, you are focused on the One before you. He looks at you, and while you know your entire life - every thought, word, and deed (or lack there of) is laid bare, you don't feel shame or regret, you don't scramble to collect your ashes and offer excuses that turned hollow long ago.

Instead you stand and look fully into the One who created you with "loving-kindness." Total love, complete kindness. With delicate care and absolute joy.

Finding yourself as you all should be, as we can all only hope to one day be seen, you take your instrument and go to join the party. You go and dance with the joyful - no fear, no shame, no other thought - JOY.

I think we are totally unable to fully comprehend the amazing scene Jeremiah gives us a tiny glimpse of. But it makes my heart jump and makes me long for home.

O Lord, make me one in your eternal love. Your awesome, amazing, healing eternal love. I am desperate to dance with the joyful again!
