Some startling facts:

- India is home to 2 million child sex workers between the ages of 5 and 15, it is estimated that an additional 500,000 children are forced into the sex industry each year.

- United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) estimate that 1.2 million are children trafficked annually.

- Of people trafficked into the industry, eighty percent are female and over fifty percent are minors.

- At least 10,000 people a year are smuggled into the US by sex traffickers.

What can you do?

Raise the issue! Talk about what's going on… Become educated and become a voice for these kids.

Lobby Congress to change laws and make the punishment steeper for those who participate in child trafficking or child abuse.

Support organizations that are fighting the issue! (www.ijm.org; www.jfci.org; www.stopthetraffik.org) or go here for a further list: http://tradethemovie.com/get_involved.htm

Give your time and your voice! Change does not happen until someone is willing to move…

It’s not just a problem happening across the ocean. It’s happening in our country and we must give our voice to stop it.
