Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

I’ll be honest and admit that this week hasn’t been the best so far. Yet it is amazing to see how God renews us day by day. I was doing my quiet time last night and was struck by how those who dwell close to God’s heart are blessed. It doesn’t mean that you don’t mess up, look at David or Peter – but it’s being willing to sit near God and hear his heart beat. It’s not about what we can do for God; sometimes all we can do is fall before him and admit we have nothing – but sometimes that’s all he wants. I am coming to the conclusion more and more that He just wants us - unabandoned, unashamed, unafraid... us. He doesn't want pretense or religion, he wants faith. And that looks like a lot of different things but mostly just loving God with all we have.

Question: when is the last time you were truly free before the Lord?
